From Egypt with Love...
Lupini Bean Scrub The Lupine plant was first cultivated in Egypt at least 2000 years ago and from there have spread to the Mediterranean region. The plant produces a seed that is very high in protein and carotene, a well loved bean by most Egyptians and Mediterranean people. The Ancient Egyptians must have put this plant to many uses, one of which is traditionally used today by Egyptian women in their beauty routine. Through a certain process of cleaning and grinding these very hard beans to a fine powder, the powder is then used by women as a facial mask or a scrub for face, elbows or for the whole body. The result is a wonderfully smooth, baby like skin and much of any dark spots disappearing.
Mix together in a small bowl, pat on face and in a gentle circular movement, apply to full face, neck and Décolletage. Leave on for at least 5 minutes. Rinse out with water and enjoy your skin! For a Facial Mask, adjust above quantities to make a paste, apply to face, neck and décolletage. Adding a teaspoonful of yogurt or honey to the paste is commonly done in Egypt. The result is always instant and wonderful! Depending on the condition of the skin, this routine should be followed once a week for maximum results. Personal Advice: The lupini bean has high alkaloid levels, which makes it very bitter to the taste. So make this your "quiet" time, to avoid getting some in your mouth!
